Rising From The Ashes

Its been four months since Talkin’ Shit has seen any activity, but like the Phoenix, it too shall rise from the ashes.  I have missed posting like nobody’s business, so I guess the only question to ask right now is, where the hell have I been?  As some of you may know, I decided to return to school to get my associates degree.  While I have enjoyed furthering my education it has put a tremendous strain on my free time.  For the last year I have been struggling to find time for a full-time job, spending time with my wife and dogs, writing and my own free time.

Unfortunately, it came to a point where I had to put one of them on the back burner.  As much as it sucked I decided to let the writing go for a bit.  It was either writing or my wife, but since she helps pay the bills and keeps me warm at night writing took one for the team and stepped down till I was finished with winter term.

So here were are back together again.  I hope you can all forgive my absence, and we can start up where we left off back in January.  I can’t promise there won’t be a writing stoppage again, but I can promise I will do my best to keep writing whenever I can.

Yay! Nick’s back. I hope you are doing well getting your Associate’s Degree. So what does it mean once you have this?

    • Nick says:

I am doing well! I am working on a degree in InfoSysMgt/Network Admin. What I would like to do is use it to transfer to a corporate level job in the company I am currently working for.

I sure hope your hard work pays off 🙂 Study is a ferocious beast, consuming every waking hour with either actual study, or guilt that one is not studying….. When is the degree due to be completed?

      • Nick says:

If I continue with the workload as is (2 courses per term) I will graduate next 12/2014. I am seriously considering upping that to at least 3 courses per term in hopes of graduating earlier than that.

I did three courses per semester when I did my degree and found that workload quite doable. I reckon the sacrafice (we will forgive you for lack of blog posts…) will be worth it to finish studying early, get that promotion and start earning better bucks!

Glad to see you back. As much as that’s cool–your reasons for the hiatus were spot on. It’s good that you have your priorities right.

Welcome back! It’s something we all face. When it comes down to living life or writing about it, living life can–and should–win every time. Happy blogging!
