I Can Die A Happy Blogger

I have been writing about people since the very first post.  Some famous, some not and some that I really admire and look up to.  A few days ago I wrote about Jamie Walton.  I never expected anything out of it nor did I ever think she would even read it.  Not that I thought she was a jerk who wouldn’t take time out of her day for me, but because she is incredibly busy and probably doesn’t have much time in her life for personal things let alone my blog.

Yesterday I was hanging out playing with my phone when I received a notification from Twitter.  When I opened the app it alerted me that I had a new msg.  This is what it said:

A lovely blog post by @nickm78 https://shittalkinnick.wordpress.com/2012/10/02/the-anti-douche-10-2/ … Thank you so much for your kind words! You touched my heart this morning 🙂

Are you kidding me??  Jamie Walton not only read my blog she also took the time to personally tweet me and thank me for it.  I know many, if not all of you probably have never heard of her before, but considering she is an amazing person and a hero to so many, including myself, I am beside myself.

I spent the whole day thinking about it and what it meant to have her tweet me.  Its surreal.  Completely surreal.  This blog has really changed my life.  It sounds stupid, and I know it, but its true.  I have found a place to share all my feelings, rantings, musings and thoughts and not to mention I have made some amazing friends along the way.

On a final note to any fellow bloggers reading this.  KEEP WRITING!!  Write about anything, but just keep writing!  You never know who might be reading it.

  1. Awesome, great confirmation that you are touching people’s minds, hearts and souls.

My dad reads my blog sometimes. In our family he’s pretty well-known.

This is really cool. The only thing in my life that compares is when comedian Doug Benson told me years ago to stop posting so many Myspace bulletins or he’d delete me. I think I was ruining his high.

“You never know who might be reading it.” Love that ! 🙂 It’s encouraging, especially when you are a new blogger like me ! 🙂
This woman Jamie seems really kind. Famous people who manage to stay kind are to me even more respectful. Thanks for this post ! 🙂

That’s so cool! I felt the same when author Stephen Fried tweeted one of my blogs that I mentioned him in.

I’m an infant when it comes to blogging, but I agree, it is definitely life-altering. I can’t imagine what comes next…

An infant? Maybe I’m a toddler. Its strange that I have only been doing this for a few months and I have already gotten a decent amount of responses. I truly am thankful for all of it!

  7. So cool. Really happy for you. 🙂

I think that’s awesome…and just one more thing to add to her “anti-douche” list.

  10. Wow, that is super cool that she read it and thanked you personally. Who would have thought! Nice. 😀
