With so many horrid people around the world it is becoming difficult to narrow this down to just one person. I was actually close to skipping this week and then I saw this:
I would say I have no words, but then what would be the point of this blog? I can’t fathom how completely disgusted I am by this video. First off I hate seeing children in pageants. I think its horrible to see toddlers with 10 pounds of makeup on, wearing crazy dresses, sent out on stage to shake their ass. Secondly, I hate even more that TLC has decided to put this family on TV, and thirdly, I can’t stand that people actually watch this shit.
I first came across this atrocity when I started seeing “Honey Boo Boo” all over Facebook. I had no idea what it was and didn’t realize they were talking about a little girl till I finally googled it. I spent the last 20 minutes watching YouTube videos of this girl and I now wish I could get those minutes back.
I have too big of a heart to make a 6 year old the DOW, so the honor goes to her mother. Lady are you fucking serious? You pump your kid up with Mountain Dew and Red Bull, dress her like a whore, and instruct her to shake her ass. You should be ashamed of yourself. This may be a low blow, but maybe you should spend a few minutes working on your own looks instead of pimping out your daughter out to the world for your 15 minutes of fame.
Any that has listened to me “Talk Shit” for the last few months knows how I feel about young girls dressing in scantly clad attire. Parents like Honey Boo Boo’s…you know what, FUCK THAT! Her name is Alana! Her parents should be punched in the face! All parents that do this to kids should be punched in the face.
I hate the argument parents give that their kids want to be in these pageants. Kids want all sorts of things that they can’t and shouldn’t have. How can we tell children they can’t have cookies before dinner, but that they can wear a shit ton of makeup and parade themselves in front of thousands of people to be judged on their looks. What the fuck kind of message is that to teach them?
For all of these reasons and so many more I declared June Thompson, TLC, pageant moms, and all that support this heinous bullshit to be without any doubt this week’s Douche of the Week!!

I actually started hearing about Honey Boo Boo on the Late, Late Show and I’m more than just a little appalled at the vid. I mean, I’m no prude but hell, I want my kids to be kids! Not telling them that in order to get acceptance, they have to aspire to large trophies! It’s just weird to see the warehouse type place they live in too. And hearing a little kid say that she wants money in that manner.
It’s really incredible what people teach their kids. And really sad.
The disgusting thing; this woman would take DOW as a compliment.

I refused to put my daughters in pageants. Having my oldest daughter become a cheer leader was difficult enough. Not a fan of exploiting little girls. If they were competing as little girls, no make up, modest dress, and behaving as little girls should, I don’t think I would have such a problem. I wouldn’t let my daughters join dance for this reason, either. They’re not allowed to have any relationship statuses on FB other than single until they’re in high school. And even then, that’s probably pushing it. I tell my kids to enjoy being kids, because once it’s gone, it’s gone. You never get to be 6 or 10 or 13 or 16, etc. again. You get one shot. Let it be as a kid, and save the grown up stuff for when they’re adults. I totally agree with you 100%.
I would love a pageant that would have girls dressed like little girls doing little girl things without all the make up. That would make perfect sense, but these people are horrible. There is just no reason to do this to little girls.
WTF is this? I totally agree with your opinion on Pageant Mom’s et al. I haven’t heard of this………. heard of this person at all. It just reaches in and viscerally threw up a snicker bar.. I tried watching the video, but a vein popped in my head. I must ( I am) totally out of it. But this so called REALITY is SCREWED.. I wont have it. I agree with your rant, but what NOW. I have tried to avoid the whole Honey Boo Boo thing until last week when some of my high school students were talking about it in class. It is absolutely appalling, and I just want to ask TLC wtf they were thinking. Insanity.
TLC used to be a great family channel, but now I wouldn’t let kids watch it at all.
It’s perverted on so many levels…kiddie pageant queen…to crack addict…to porn star. All thanks the Coupon Queen. It’s just bizarre.
That’s the route I expect her to take. Where do these parents think the “high” is going to come from once their “go-juice” doesn’t work anymore? I figure diet pills are next, and then on to the meth, and coke. Whole fucking thing blows my damn mind!
OMG… I posted about her.. she’s horrible..she gives us southerners a bad name.. we are right back where we were 50 yrs ago.. dumb dirt eaters w/ no learnings… I cannot believe TLC just gave her a damn raise too.. $20 thou an episode.. I barely clear that working 40 hours a week… Why do people keep watching her????? I never ever make fun of people because of their weight, I weighed 270 lbs at one point.. but she is a PIG… she should wallow in the mud eating…grrr
