Ask and you shall receive! After last weeks Anti-Douche post it was clear to me that you all loved this concept and since I am a giver I decided to oblige you all. The Anti-Douche will now be a weekly post in which I will write about someone that goes out of there way to make a difference in someone else’s life. Last week it was the Dark Knight himself this week we go a slightly different route and give the honor to the original prostitute with a heart of gold.
That’s right people its the Pretty Woman herself, Julia Roberts.
Julia, like many other Hollywood types, has her groceries delivered to her house on a weekly basis. Last week when her delivery guy showed up with her groceries she noticed he was sweating profusely. She asked if he was ok, at which time he apologized and explained the A/C in his car was broken. Julia took the groceries inside and returned with a check for $500 and said, “get that A/C fixed, its on me.”
I don’t care how you feel about Julia Roberts, this kicks ass. She could have simply took the groceries, shut the door and never thought about the guy again. Instead she saw someone in need and took action. This is what gives me a little faith in humans again. I know some of you might think that she is worth MILLIONS and that $500 is nothing to her, and to that I respond, stop being an ass. She didn’t have to do anything, nobody was there watching her, she wasn’t doing it for the publicity, she did it because it was the right thing to do.
I for one respect the hell out of her for this. I am sure the guy she helped out will never forget her generosity and for that Julia Roberts is without a doubt this weeks Anti-Douche!
Awesome story!
We don’t get many celebs who make a difference, so it’s nice to hear a story like this for a change. (Nicely done Julia Roberts.)
I love these stories! There are so many shitty things people do to each other so its nice to hear there are still some decent ones out there.
I like that you are sharing cool stuff people are doing. It’s easy to carp and a little harder to sincerely appreciate. Thanks for posting these.
You’re very welcome, and thank you for reading it. I hope you stick around and read some more.
That story brought tears to my eyes. Very sweet! I’m just curious though, where are you getting this information?
It comes to me in my dream 🙂 Seriously I get it all over the place. I listen to podcasts while driving to and from work and I look for strange news on the web when I’m bored at work.
That’s so cool, always great to hear something nice.
it is cool
but if ‘nobody was there watching her’ how the hell did you know 😉
but generosity can be very rare, so this is heartwarming.
Alright so I admit it, I was there, but I was hiding in the bushes and she couldn’t see me.
Awesome! I love that you’re doing this on a weekly basis! How does it get any better than this? What else is possible? Kudos to Roberts for lending a helping hand!
I guess you will have to tune in next week to see if it can get better 🙂
Aww that’s really sweet. Made my night after seeing that there is some decent people out there.
I’m glad you liked it! Tune in next week to read more 🙂
Agreed, she didn’t have to but she did, and that’s quite awesome. 😉
There are quite a few celebrities that are also generous; have a look at this:

That’s a great one too! I also read something about Billy Campbell (The Rocketeer) rescued some 3 men in the middle of the ocean after their boat capsized.
What impressed me the most was the fact many people would not stop to rescue somebody on the roadside and he could have left without anybody really complaining. He did what he did just because of his heart, even challenging common behaviours.
That’s a great story. Kudos to Roberts.
Thank you sir!
Great story – a nice breather from all the stories about douche-y behaviour in Hollywood. Also, thanks for dropping by my blog earlier!
Thank you for the read and comment, and you’re welcome for the drop by. I love the cabbage recipe, especially the the directions to what to do while you’re waiting for it to cook.
Haha thank you, keep up the great writing!
What a great post. So much of what we read is about the bad people do…nice to look forward to reading about the good that people do.
😉

Thank you! I hope you keep coming back every Tuesday for more!
Good job Nick for sharing and for Julia being generous. Perhaps there is still hope for the human race?!
this means a lot. thumbs up for julia 🙂
